TIM NELSON, DMIN, BCC
SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR
An ordained Lutheran minister (ELCA), retired Board Certified Chaplain (BCC), and Spiritual Director, Tim is passionate about assisting faith leaders in drawing upon their own spiritual resources and practices in order to lead from their center and to find joy in their work. He comes to this place in life after more than 30 years of ministry in congregations, hospice chaplaincy, and executive leadership of spiritual care in healthcare settings. Tim is energized by helping others pay close attention to their spiritual lives through individual and group Spiritual Direction. He has a deep appreciation of the many spiritual traditions and beliefs, is known as a respectful and compassionate listener, and holds his own beliefs and assumptions lightly in order to be fully present to others.
Tim received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, and was trained and certified in Spiritual Direction through Christos Center for Spiritual Formation. He is certified for chaplaincy through The Association of Professional Chaplains and endorsed by the ELCA for specialized ministry.
A lover of all things outdoors, Tim can be found riding his bicycle on urban bike paths, snowshoeing in parks, devouring good books on the backyard patio, paddling his kayak on quiet waters, and, alongside his wife, walking the trails of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
