SUSAN MILLER, MAR, MDIV

SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Susan believes that spiritually grounded leadership is essential for the renewal of faith-based organizations. Through individual and small group Spiritual Direction and Clergy Coaching, Susan’s work with leaders helps them identify, develop and refine their unique gifts and passions. Susan also enjoys exploring the Enneagram as a tool for growth with both individuals and groups.

Susan has served in congregations as a Lutheran (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) pastor and interim pastor and on judicatory staffs in New Jersey and in St. Paul and Southeastern Minnesota. She recently retired after 34 years of full-time ministry. In addition to working with individuals, she also has worked with congregations who find themselves in a season of conflict. Susan believes that healing and renewal often begin in the midst of anxiety and stress.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University and Master of Arts in Religion and Master of Divinity degrees from Yale University. She is certified as a Clergy Coach and a Spiritual Director and has received training in directing the Extended Ignatian Exercises. She has practiced as a Healthy Congregations facilitator, a Bridgebuilder and has received training in conflict management from the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. She has completed training in the Full Circle Enneagram approach.

In addition to her work with individuals and with faith-based organizations, Susan finds great joy in spending time with her husband, their two adult children and their spouses and their grandchildren. When she can, she escapes to the beach – where the vastness of sea and sky ground her in the beauty of creation.
