Celebrating 50 years (1969-2019)
Susan offers counseling to adults and starts with meeting clients where they are at. She takes a collaborative approach by working with you to identify strengths, resiliency, and areas of growth. Susan offers a variety of approaches to help you reach your goals. Her areas of expertise are in depression, anxiety, grief and loss, addiction and recovery, trauma, caregiver/care partner stress, adjustment to mental and physical illnesses, end of life, and spirituality. Prior to joining LeaderWise, Susan worked in crisis mental health, with individuals who have serious and persistent mental illness, in case management, a corrections setting.
When not at LeaderWise, Susan works at Regions Hospital as a clinical social worker where she supports and advocates for patients and their families, conducts chemical health screenings, facilitates the discharge process, and forms relationships with community providers. Susan is also actively involved with a local church building bridges between the congregation and community, teaching, preaching, and facilitating small groups.
Outside of work, Susan spends time with her family doing her favorite things: cooking, baking, reading, and outdoor sports including hiking and kayaking.
Susan has a Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University. She is licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. Susan also completed the Deacon Studies program at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and is ordained in the United Methodist Church.
